FIELD SERVICE
ENGINEER
The major responsibilities for this position include
but are not limited to:
• Service and project engineering responsibilities
from concept to completion, including design,
implementation, commissioning, training and
documentation.
• Tuning, configuring, troubleshooting and
commissioning AC/DC drives
• Strategically visiting client locations, assess
current and future needs, present the company, and
propose work.
• Market the division and its capabilities in all
client relations efforts.
• Negotiation and maintenance of all terms and rates
with clients.
• Preparation of all project related reports and
documentation, including billing.
• Evaluate and coordinate ordering, receipt, and
staging of materials over the duration of a project
• Stay attuned to client feedback and issues, and
respond accordingly.
• Will primarily work autonomously to satisfy client
needs.
• Travel will be required throughout our customer
base area.
The key qualifications and skills are:
• At least 5 years of related automation service,
engineering and sales experience
• Familiarity and experience with the products and
services described above
• Drives background with PLC (Allen Bradley)
capabilities
• Knowledge of variable speed drives and coordinated
drive systems
• Knowledge of AC/DC drive technologies
• Familiarity with different brands - Allen
Bradley, ABB, CT, Emerson, Hitachi, Parker SSD
(Eurotherm Drives),Siemens, etc.
• Knowledge of RS Logics 500 and 5000
• Familiarity with HMI programming,
PanelViewPlus, Red Lion, Maple systems and
others
• Familiar with the development of programming
environments
• Auto-CAD experience
• Promise E experience is a plus
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• A strong, client-focused orientation and
commitment to service, focused on exceeding
client expectations
• Sound negotiation skills and the proven
ability to effectively assemble, nurture,
develop and maintain a following of clients that
generates business
• The existence of a current client following
and/or known pool of potential leads coming into
the position would be a plus.
• Record of job stability and prior success,
especially in developing and maintaining a base
of business.
• Must be familiar with electrical safe work
practices
A technical college degree is
preferred. An EE degree is a plus, but not
required. Of utmost importance is a candidate's
ability to professionally represent our company.
